Adelaide/IBNS: India captain Rohit Sharma has revealed Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, the opening pair which excelled in the first Test against Australia, will open the innings in the second match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide.

Addressing a press conference, Rohit said he doesn't want to disturb the opening pair that had steered India to a formidable total against Australia in the second innings of the inaugural Test.

"We want results and success and those two guys at the top batted brilliantly just looking at this one Test match. I was watching the match at home. It was brilliant the way KL batted," the skipper said.

"I don't see why we need to change it. What I saw from the outside, it looked brilliant. There was no need to change anything. It was actually very simple for me. Personally, it was not easy but for the team, it made a lot of sense," he added.

Rohit, a regular opener, played in the middle order- at number four- in India's warm-up match against Australia PM XI ahead of the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide.

In the first Test, Jaiswal and Rahul smashed 201 runs in the opening partnership with the former hitting 161.

Rahul looked solid in both the innings with his knocks of 26 and 77.

In absence of Rohit who was on leave, stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah led India to a mammoth 295-run victory over Australia in the first Test in Perth.

The visitors are 1-0 up in the five-match series.
