Kolkata/IBNS: Kolkata Thunderbolts, the inaugural champions of the RuPay Prime Volleyball League powered by A23 have bounced back in some style after their opening four defeats.

They have registered dominant wins over Kochi Blue Spikers and Hyderabad Black Hawks with a score line of 16-14, 15-13, 11-15, 15-5 and 15-8, 15-8, 11-15, 20-18 respectively.

The Kolkata Thunderbolts have ignited a spark that is turning into a roaring flame. With two consecutive wins, the Thunderbolts are on a mission to show the world what they are capable of.

The two victories have not only boosted the team’s morale but also sent shockwaves through the league. The Kolkata Thunderbolts are rising from the ashes, proving that resilience and determination are their ultimate weapons. Each player is a force to be reckoned with, ready to rewrite the narrative of this ongoing season.

Ashwal Rai, who has been leading the team from the front, is setting an example with his powerful blocks and smashes. He is well accompanied by Vinit Kumar, who has been phenomenal this season.

Notably, David Kisiel, who plays as an attacker along with Onur Cukur, who plays as a setter complement each other superbly. The duo has played together in the past when they were at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Speaking about the team’s performance in the last two matches, Captain Ashwal Rai said, "Winning the first game sets the tone for the entire league. The team has played really well and never gave up.

"We are taking it game by game and giving our 100%. We always believed in our game and knew that if we don’t panic and just perform, the result will be in our favour. I hope we can carry the same winning mentality and the momentum in our next games."

Echoing the same, Kolkata Thunderbolts’ head coach Rahman Mohammadrad expressed his voice.

He said, "Winning two successive games is something brilliant that the team and the players have achieved. The atmosphere in the camp is really good and the players are enjoying themselves when they are on the court.

"But we should not be distracted from our goal. We want to give our 100% every time we are playing and ensure that the fans get to see us putting on an amazing show for them."
