Kolkata, Mar 19 (IBNS): Registering a historic victory against Pakistan in a ICC World T20 match here, Indian skipper MS Dhoni said he hopes that his team can perform better and need to improve in certain areas.

" I think we can do better and there are areas we can improve. Once we get into the knockouts you won't get a second chance," Dhoni said after the match.

Dhoni said he did not expect that the pitch will turn so much.

Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi, whose side had also suffered defeat at the hands of India recently in a group stage match of the Asia Cup, said they were 30 runs short as they posted 118 for five on the scorecard to challenge Dhoni and his men.

Afridi said his bowlers did not bowl in the right areas.

"We didn't bowl in the right areas," the skipper said after the match.

India beat Pakistan by six wickets.
