U15 Youth League: Pune FC look to strengthen top-spot; host Steadfast Academy

Pune, Dec 19 (IBNS) Pune FC are keen to build on their impressive home run as they host Steadfast Academy in an Under-15 Youth League, Maharashtra Zone, Round-7 encounter at the Pune FC Training Pitches in Mamurdi on Sunday.

Going into the game Pune FC (16 pts, GD +21) continue to lead the standings ahead of second-placed Mumbai FC (16 pts, GD +16) on goal difference. However, with their arch rivals catching up, Pune FC needs to improve their goal tally to strengthen the top spot which makes the clash against fifth-placed Steadfast a crucial one.

Speaking ahead of the game, Pune FC Coach Mohan Dass said, “The match is an important one for us. Even though we have logged a big win in the first leg, Steadfast have improved in recent games and will be a tough opponent. We need to stay focussed on our objectives to get the desired result.”

When the last time both sides faced off in Bhiwandi back in November, Pune FC romped to a big 6-0 win. However, with Steadfast coming into this game on the back of a 1-7 loss to Mumbai FC, hosts Pune FC will be eager to match their past result keeping in mind the points table.

“We have been working on our tactics during the week.  We will be missing Aryan Thite who is out due to personal reasons along with Hendry Antonay but the rest of the team is in good shape and we are looking forward to a positive performance,” added Coach Mohan Dass.

The game at Mamurdi kicks off at 3.30 PM on Sunday.
