U15 Youth League: Pune FC look for first-ever double; host Kenkre FC

Pune, Dec 11 (IBNS) Pune FC will look to log their first-ever double when they host Kenkre FC in an Under-15 Youth League 2015-16 Maharashtra Zone Round-6 encounter at the Pune FC Training Pitches in Mamurdi on Saturday.

Back in familiar surrounds after consecutive away games, leaders Pune FC (13 pts) will hope to make most of their home advantage to get back to winning ways after a goalless draw against Mumbai FC.

Speaking ahead of the match, Pune FC Coach Mohan Dass said, “The previous game against Mumbai FC was a tough one. We played some good football but also missed a lot of chances. We need to learn from every game and improve going forward.”

Having logged a hard fought 2-0 win over Kenkre FC in the first leg at Cooperage two weeks ago, Pune FC will be wary of their opponents going into the home leg. For the record, bottom-placed Kenkre FC (3 pts) logged their first win of the campaign, a 1-0 victory over PIFA Colaba a week ago, following four consecutive losses.

“Kenkre FC have a strong side and our clash in Mumbai was an entertaining one. We have been working very hard during the week and want to maintain the same level of performance in the second leg,” added Coach Mohan Dass.

On the team news front, Pune FC will be missing services of playmaker Cladeo Nongpluh due to personal reasons. However, the home side will be boosted by the return of top scorer Ishan Dey who missed out on previous game due to fever and will provide options up front.

The game at Mamurdi kicks off at 3.30 PM on Saturday.
