Tokyo Olympics: PV Sindhu storms into semi-finals

Tokyo: India's Olympic medalist PV Sindhu stormed into the semi-final round of the women's Badminton event of the Tokyo Olympics here by beating Japan's Akane Yamaguchi.

She won the silver medal in the 2016 Olympics.

Sindhu reached the last-four stage of the tournament by registering a 21-13, 22-20 win over Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in the quarter-finals.

The match witnessed a brilliant 54-shot rally.

Sindhu's opponent in the semi-finals will be decided in the match between Thailand's Intanon Ratchanok and Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying.
