Third Test: India post 85 for the loss of 2 wickets at lunch

Nagpur, Nov 25 (IBNS) Opting to bat first on day one of the third Test match between India and South Africa, the hosts put up 85 runs while losing both their openers after a steady start, here on Wednesday.

At lunch, India are 85 for the loss of 2 wickets.

Continuing the positive start they had in the rain truncated second Test match at Bengaluru, the Indian openers came out all guns blazing as they post a fifty run partnership for the first wicket inside 14 overs.

India lost Shikher Dhawan first, the southpaw was caught of his own bowling by part timer Dean Elgar for 12.

Murali Vijay made his presence felt with an array of boundaries and a six, as he scored 40 off 84 deliveries before being trapped in the front by Morne Morkel.

Ever Since the fall of the second wicket, Indian skipper Virat Kohli (11 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara (18 not out) have played with caution to negate any further damage by the Proteas.
