Tata Group bags Women's Premier League title sponsorship rights

Mumbai: The Tata Group has won the rights for the Women's Premier League (WPL) title sponsorship for five seasons, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Tuesday.

The title sponsorship rights is effective from February 15, 2023, to July 31, 2027, or until 30 days after the completion of the WPL Season 2027.

The BCCI had released the tender for the acquisition of WPL title rights on January 28.

The last date for the purchase of the tender document was February 9, while the deadline for the submission of proposals was February 11.

The financial eligibility for bidding was an average audited annual turnover of Rs 100 crore in the last three years, as per the tender documents.

The Tata Group is also the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It bagged the rights for Rs 600 crore for two years.

Earlier, the title sponsorship rights were held by Chinese cell phone maker Vivo for two years.
