Syed Modi Grand Prix : Saina, Kashyap clinch titles

Lucknow, Jan 25 (IBNS): India's Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap put up brilliant performances in the finals of women's and men's events to lift the titles at Syed Modi International Badminton Championships here on Sunday.

Nehwal defeated Carolina Marin of Spain  19-21, 25-23, 21-16. The match lasted for an hour and 19 minutes.

In the men's finals which featured another Indian K Srikanth, Kashyap defeated him 23-21, 23-21 to clinch the title.

The match lasted for 52 minutes.

"Great start to 2015...Yippee! #IndiaGPGold #SyedModiGrandPrix2015 #Lucknow," Kashyap tweeted.
