Cuttuck, May 4 (IBNS) Pune FC Women's 'B' team players Aishwarya Gadekar and Ella Dubey have been selected to represent the Maharashtra Under-15 squad in the upcoming AIFF Sub-Junior National Football Championship which is scheduled to kick off in Cuttack on 8th May, 2015.

Twelve year old Ella, a student of the Viman Nagar-based Symbiosis International School, plays as a defender while 13-year-old Aishwarya is a student of Camp-based St. Mary’s School, and plays a striker. Their selection thus adds to Pune FC’s long list of achievements and gives a big boost to the Women’s setup which was started just a few months back.

Incidentally, the duo was drafted into the Pune FC team after their brilliant performances in the inaugural Pune FC Women’s Invitational Cup held on March 8 this year to celebrate AFC Women’s Day. Since then they have represented Pune FC ‘B’ in the recently concluded PDFA Women’s League helping the team finish third in their first ever campaign.

The competition which will be played in a League-cum-Knockout format sees participation from 24 teams across India which have been divided into eight groups of three teams each. Meanwhile, Maharashtra have been placed in Group-E and will face Uttarakhand (9th May) and Sikkim (13th May) in Cuttack.
