SL's Dimuth Karunaratne rule out of WC due to injury

Colombo, Mar 5 (IBNS): Sri Lankan cricketer Dimuth Karunaratne has been ruled out of the remaining World Cup due to injury.

He will be replaced by Kusal Janith Perera.

"Dimuth Karunaratne broke a bone in his right hand during practice today. Kusal Janith Perera will leave today for Australia to be on standby for Dimuth" Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement on Thursday.

"ICC Technical Committee will be informed of the new development and a Surgeon will check on him tomorrow and advice the Team Management of his recommendations," it said.
