SLC appoints Attapattu as coach

Colombo, Sept 24 (IBNS): The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday announced that Marvan Attapattu has been appointed as the coach of the national cricket side.

 Attapattu has also served as the captain of the side in his long cricket career.

"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that as per the recommendations of the special committee appointed to select the National Head Coach, The Executive Committee of SLC unanimously approved and appointed Mr. Marvan Attapattu to the position of National Head Coach of Sri Lanka Cricket with immediate effect," SLC said in a statement.

The cricketer had played   90 tests and 268 one-dayers for Sri Lanka.
