Shah Rukh Khan, Ness Wadia engage in heated argument in BCCI meeting: Reports

Mumbai/IBNS: Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan and his Punjab Kings counterpart Ness Wadia got engaged in a heated argument at the meeting of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) here on Wednesday, media reports said.

The meeting was called to discuss the plans for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League, a cash-rich T20 tournament held in India once in every year.

The owners of 10 IPL teams were present physically or virtually at the meeting months ahead of the IPL 2025.

As per reports, SRK and Wadia got into a heated argument over the players retention issue.

While SRK wanted major players retention, Wadia spoke otherwise.

Reportedly, the KKR co-owner was supported by Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran, who felt it takes a lot of time to build a team.

Post meeting, Wadia told the media, "We discussed several points- auction, players, uncap players. It was a good meeting. Happy to have a meeting with BCCI. Whatever will be done will be in the best interest of the fans, players and all stakeholders..."

In the 2024 IPL season, KKR lifted the trophy for the third time with a clinical performance under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer and mentorship of Gautam Gambhir.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings, which is co-owned by actress Preity Zinta, finished at the ninth spot of the table with only five points.
