Sania, Bopanna cross first round hurdles
Melbourne, Jan 21 (IBNS): Indian Tennis stars Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Martina Hingis reached the second round of the Australian Open by beating Colombian-Brazilian pair of Mariana Duque and Teliana Pereira here on Thursday.
The Indo-Swiss pair defeated their opponents 6-2, 6-3.
Sania and Martina continued their winning streak in the first major grand slam of the year.
In his men's doubles first round clash, India's Rohan Bopanna took to the stage with Romanian partner Florin Mergea and defeated Australian duo of Omar Jasika and Nick Kyrgios.
The Indo-Romanian pair beat their opponents 7-5 6-3.
