Mumbai, Jan 5 (IBNS): Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday congratulated young cricketer Pranav Dhanawade for scoring more than 1000 runs in an innings.

"Congrats #PranavDhanawade on being the first ever to score 1000 runs in an innings. Well done and work hard. You need to scale new peaks!" Tendulkar, who has himself set several international records during his career, tweeted.

Breaking world records, a Mumbai school cricketer has become the first batsman to score 1000-plus runs in an innings in any form of cricket.

The record was set by Pranav Dhanawade during a H.T. Bhandari Cup inter-school cricket tournament.

He remained 1009 not out.

In his 323 balls knock, the cricketer smashed 129 fours and 59 sixes.
