Paris: Spanish Tennis icon Rafael Nadal grabbed his 14th French Open title by beating Norway's Casper Ruud in straight sets on Sunday.

Nadal, considered as the king of the French Open court, defeated his opponent by  6-3 6-3 6-0.

With this win, he has now extended his men's grand slam title victory to 22.

He has now moved ahead of his two major rivals on court-Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Nadal, who lost to Djokovic in the semi-finals last year, has won 112 of his 115 matches on the Paris clay, reports BBC.

Nadal had clinched the Australian Open title earlier this year.
