Pune FC presents Urzza Cup 2014: Vodafone shared services crowned champions

New Delhi, Dec 12 (IBNS): Vodafone Shared Services emerged winners in the inaugural Pune FC presents Urzza Cup 2014 Inter-Corporate Football Tournament held at the Score Turfs in Seasons Mall Hadapsar.

The city-based corporate side came out top among 24 teams and clinched the Urzza Gold Cup overcoming Gallagher Services 2-0 in the grand final on Sunday.

On their way to the championship, Vodafone beat Cognizant Technology Solutions 4-0 in the quarterfinals before overpowering Homeward Residential in a thrilling penalty shootout in the semis.

Meanwhile, Amdocs emerged champions of the Urzza Sliver Cup hammering Automated Data Processing 4-0 in the other final on the day.

In other fun activities taking place at the venue, it was Cognizant Technology Solutions who came out on top in the Urzza Penalty Cup.

The Grand Finale of this four-weekend-long event, was attended by an audience of close to three hundred people. Moreover, young kids from the Pune FC Soccer Schools too participated in a 6-team Soccer School tournament which was clinched by Anish-Utd.

The finalists in the Urzza Gold Cup clinched all the individual awards with Vodafone dominating the proceedings with three awards – Best Player, Rahul Mehta; Best Forward, Michael Vaz and Best Goalkeeper Sameer Shetty. On the other hand, Gallagher Services’ Santosh Ghorpade emerged as the Best Defender.
