PM congratulates Indian team for wining against WI

New Delhi, Mar 6 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated the Indian cricket team for beating West Indies in a group stage match of the World Cup and qualifying to the quarter-finals of the tournament at the Western Australia Cricket Association Ground in Perth.

In his congratulatory tweet: Modi said: "Congratulations to the Cricket Team for the win against West Indies. The Men in Blue seem to be having a great tournament!"

MS Dhoni and R Ashwin joined in a 51-run seventh wicket partnership as India beat West Indies by four wickets in the match.

Chasing 183 runs for victory, Dhoni smashed unbeaten 45 and guided his team to 185 runs for the loss of six wickets in 39.1 overs.

With four wins off four clashes, India easily moved to the quater-finals of the tournament.

Earlier, Indian bowlers, specially Mohammed Shami (3-35) , bowled brilliantly to bowl out West Indies for 182 runs in 44.2 overs.
