Anita Sood, a celebrated figure in Indian athletics and a former national high jump champion, has been appointed as the observer for the Indian contingent at the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

(At 74 years old, Sood brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this prestigious role, following a remarkable career that saw her dominate the high jump arena from 1971 to 1974.

The announcement came through a formal letter from the Paralympic Committee of India, signed by Jayawant GH, the Secretary General. Sood, known for her exceptional performance in both high jump and hurdles, also played a pivotal role in leading Bengaluru University to victory in the All India University Athletics Championship held in Baroda in 1970.
