ODI: India beat WI by 48 runs

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IBNS): Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami bowled a super spell to destroy the West Indies batting line-up as India defeated the visitors by 48 runs in the second ODI match of the series here on Saturday.

Posting 263 for for seven, Indian bowlers bowled out West Indies for 215 with 21 balls to spare.

While Shami bowled brilliantly in the match, it was

Dwayne Smith who tried to give Indians some amount of fight in the match as he smashed 97 runs. He hit 11 boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

Kieron Pollard was the second top scorer for the side with his 40.

Chasing 264 for victory, West Indian openers

Dwayne Smith and Darren Bravo (26) added 64 runs in the first wicket partnership. Shami took the wicket of Bravo to give India the first break.

Pollard and Smith then added 72 runs in the second wicket partnership to give some hopes to the West Indian spectators.

Ravindra Jadeja and Amir Mishra also bowled brilliantly and took three and two wickets respectively.

India earlier scored 263 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Virat Kohli returned to form with his 62 and Suresh Raina also smashed 62 with his willow.

Skipper MS Dhoni hammered 40-ball unbeaten 51 runs.

Jerome Taylor took three wickets for West Indies.

India leveled the series 1-1 with the victory.
