Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been released from the Indian cricket team for the second Test match against England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed on Friday.

BCCI said the decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times.

" Mr Mohd. Siraj has been released from the India squad for the second Test against England in Vizag. The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times," the board said in a statement.

The board said the cricketer will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot.

Meanwhile, India won the toss and opted to bat first against England.

Coming from behind, England beat India to take 1-0 lead in the series.
