Modi congratulates Leander over mixed doubles victory

New Delhi, Feb 1 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Indian tennis icon Leander Paes for winning the Australian Open mixed doubles title with his partner Martina Hingis.

"Leander Paes continues to make us proud! I congratulate him on the Mixed Doubles win with Martina Hingis at the Australian Open. @Leander," Modi tweeted.

Paes joined another icon Martina Hingis as they defeated Canada’s Daniel Nestor and Kristina Mladenovic of France to add another Australian Open title to his crown on Sunday.

Paes and Hingis defeated their opponents 6-4 6-3 to clinch the mixed doubles title.
