Modern High School girls dominate show on peultimate day of All India School Rowing Championship

Kolkata/IBNS: Modern High School (MHS) dominated the show reaching the finals of  Double Scull event for Senior and Junior Girls both on the penultimate day of the 49th All India Invitation School Rowing Championship, organised by Lake Club at Rabindra Sarobar Lake here on Saturday.

Competing in the senior group Ishika Das and Gayatri Sriram struggle hard and beat their traditional rivals from South Point High School by just one length after a keen compeitition while MHS Junior team of Aditi Srinivas and Ishanvi won against Delhi Public Schol "B" comparatively easily.

In the title clash for Senior Girls Double scull MHS will take on Ritsika Das and Shriya Laha of Ashok Hall "A" who have earlier reached the final on Friday.

MHS Junior Team will face Sumedha Ghosh and Bisaja Chakraborty of Delhi Public School (DPS) "A" who in the second semi final of their event beat Future Hope Foundation.

In the Junior Boys Double Scull semi finals  Srijan Upadhyay and Debadrita Laha from St Lawrence High School displayed their might to get the better of the rowers from Dhakuria Ram Chandra High School and set up a title clash against strong contenders Sanskar Chandra and Devanshh Chakrabort from South Point High school.

South Point in the second semi final disposed of the challenge from FHF rowers easily.

Khalsa Boys High Scool "A" team also took their appointed place in the final for Senior Boys Double Scull as their duo of Vivek Kumar Singh and Rajdeep Manna reached the final beating their rivals from Andrews High School "B".

In the final they will face the favourite Deb brothers from Lake Point Convent who won all their races in this championship easily so far.

In the play off for the thitd place Future Hope Foundation earned bronzes in Senior and junior Boys and Junior Girls Coxed Four and Junior Boys Double Scull events.

Dhakuria Ram Chandra High School, Andrews High School "B" and DPS "B" also got a broze each in the Double Scull events for Junior Boys, Senior Boys and junior Girls respectively.

All the finals would be rowed on Sunday (June 9) afternoon from 2:30 pm.
