England's iconic Lord's Cricket Ground will host the ICC Test Championship final for the first time in 2025.

The final of the championship, which has been played twice so far, will be played between June 11 to June 15, 2025.

The earlier two final games were played in The Oval and Southampton, both located in England.

New Zealand defeated India in the first edition of the tournament to life the title while Australia beat the same opponents in the second version.

The two highest-ranked teams will play the final in Lord's.

India is currently at the top of the standing followed by Australia.

This Ultimate Test is the culmination of two years of intense competition in the ICC World Test Championship, spanning 69 Test matches over 27 series played to decide the finalists.

The Test at Lord’s will decide the winner of the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship.

ICC Chief Executive, Geoff Allardice said: “The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition. It's a testament to the enduring appeal of Test cricket, which continues to captivate fans around the world. Tickets will be in high demand so I would encourage fans to register their interest now to ensure they are in with a chance of attending the Ultimate Test next year."

ICC World Test Championship Final 2023 winning captain, Pat Cummins said: “Winning the World Test Championship was, and still is, a big goal for this team. It is the culmination of hard work and consistency over the two-year cycle for all teams.

“So hopefully we will be there again, there’s a lot of cricket still to be played between now and then, and the fans can get a chance to watch us defend the title.”

Guy Lavender, Chief Executive & Secretary of MCC, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the ICC to host the World Test Championship Final for the first time. Test match days at Lord’s are special and to welcome the two best men’s sides in the world at the time, to battle it out at the Home of Cricket, will be a cricketing experience not to be missed.”
