Kolkata, Jan 20 (IBNS): The Audi quattro Cup has clearly emerged as the cream of corporate golf events in the world. Audi Kolkata is all set to play host to the second leg of the Indian edition, in its 8th season at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club here on Wednesday.

The coveted event, which will see the participation of over 1500 amateur golfers, will travel to 13 other cities making it a nation-wide tournament.

The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 nations.

Played on a unique “Greensome Stableford” format, where a team consists of two golfers drawn randomly and the team handicap derived by Single Peoria system, the top team amongst the Audi owners from each leg will qualify for the India final to be played in Turkey.

The winning team from the Audi India final will then qualify to participate in the world finals of Audi quattro Cup.

“Audi has been committed to the sport of golf for almost two decades. The sport, which stands for precision and technique, truly embodies Audi's philosophy of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’. The Audi quattro Cup is ranked amongst the biggest and most popular amateur golf tournaments worldwide. The tournament which enters its 8th season in India has emerged as not just a popular sporting event but also as an ideal opportunity to intensify business relationships and establish new contacts.” said Joe King, Brand Director, Audi India.
