Kolkata/IBNS: At the 8th edition of Knight Golf, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) launched the #ShahoshiRani initiative, a campaign aimed at encouraging and empowering the women of India.

The #ShahoshiRani campaign pays tribute to women who persevere through life’s toughest challenges, standing as a symbol of courage and resilience.

For the KKR management, "Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo" is more than just a slogan for the cricket field, it reflects a spirit of resilience and empowerment that extends into communities and everyday life.

The panel at the launch event included KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, team mentor Dwayne Bravo, and Venky Mysore, CEO of KKR, who together unveiled three impactful pillars of the initiative — Play It Forward, Skill Up for Equality, and the Vidushree Programme.

Under these pillars, the initiative seeks to:

1. Upskill women from marginalised communities in tailoring and beauty practices to help them attain financial independence.

2. Provide sports programs and mental health support for rural girls and children residing in rehabilitation homes.

3. Train tribal girls as community educators to foster leadership and awareness at the grassroots level.

"My advice to all women or girls growing up. I think first of all it’s very important to have that self-belief, don’t worry about your financial background. Don’t worry about where you come from, but focus your mind on what you want to achieve and what you want to accomplish in life. The stars are the limit and it’s important for you all to have that belief.

"There is an inner champion in all of you and you need to find that. You need to find that purpose and go after it. Go after your goals and don’t let anyone discourage you or say you cannot make it. So it’s all about the belief. and I want to encourage all young ladies, everyone as a matter of fact, to have that belief.," said Dwayne Bravo speaking to IBNS.

All proceeds from the Knight Golf event will go towards supporting the Meer Foundation and other allied initiatives focused on uplifting women facing adversity.

With this initiative, KKR aims to bring about a transformative impact in the lives of countless women across the country.
