KKR grab 2-wicket victory over Pune

Pune, Apr 24 (IBNS): Kolkata Knight Riders continued their golden run in the IPL, as Gautam Gambhir -led side defeated Rising Pune Supergiants by two wickets here on Sunday.

After restricting Pune at 160 fir five, KKR reached 162 runs by losing  eight wickets and three balls to spare.

Suryakumar Yadav (60) remained the top scorer for the side but it was Umesh Yadav, who hit a six, guiding two-time champions to target in the last over of the crunch encounter.

Yadav snatched the tag of being the hero of the game with his 2-ball seven runs knock.

Yusuf Pathan hammered 27-ball 36, hammering two boundaries and equal number of sixes.

Albie Morkel , Rajat Bhatia and Thisara Perera picked up two wickets each for Pune.

Earlier, riding on Ajinkya Rahane's 67, Pune posted 160 on the scorecard.

MS Dhoni (23*) and Steve Smith (31) made some useful contributions.


Shakib Al Hasan bowled tight as he picked up a wicket by giving away 14 runs in his 3 overs.
