London/IBNS: In one step closer to win the second Euro Cup title after 1968, Italy reached the final of the tournament beating Spain in the penalty-shoot in Wembley here on Tuesday.

After the first half went goalless, Federico Chiesa provided the crucial lead to Italy by pulling off a stunning goal in the 60th minute.

Alvaro Morata brought Spain back into the match by erasing Italy's thin lead 20 minutes later, opening up the game for either side.

The match finally rolled over to the penalty shoot-out for a decision after the match remained 1-1 for 120 minutes including 30 minutes of the extra time.

In the penalties, Spain faltered 2-4 enabling Italians to advance to the final where either England or Denmark will take them on in the same venue.

England and Denmark will play the second semi final here on Wednesday.

As per Indian Standard Time (IST), the second semi final match will begin at 12:30 am on Jul 8.
