Mumbai/IBNS: Fiery half-centuries by Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav played anchor roles in Mumbai Indians' storming into victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Thursday.

Suryakumar slammed 52 from just 19 balls (5 fours and 4 sixes) powering MI to chase down the 197 in just 15.3 overs.

Opening batter Ishan Kishan (69 from 34 balls) and Rohit Sharma (38 from 24 balls) started off the chase with a bang as the hosts put up 101 runs for the first wicket in just 8.5 overs.

MI ended up scoring 199/3.

Earlier, RCB slammed 196/8 in 20 overs, thanks to wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik's 53 from 23 balls and Rajat Patidar's 50 from 26 balls.
