IPL: Nicholas Pooran's heroics goes in vain as SRH beat KXIP by 69 runs

Dubai/UNI: Nicholas Pooran's fighting knock (77 off 37) went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) thrashed Kings XI Punjab (KXIp) by 69 runs to register their third win of the IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, here on Thursday.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a huge total of 201/6 in 20 overs courtesy excellent fifties by Jonny Bairstow (97 off 55) and David Warner (52 off 40).

Along with Bairstow and Warner, Kane Williamson also played a handy cameo of 20 off 10.

In reply, Pooran smashed the fastest 50 this season, bringing up his maiden IPL half-century in 17 balls, but he kept losing partners at the other end.

In the end, KXIP crumbled under the pressure and were bowled out for 132 in 16.5 overs, losing the match by 69 runs.

Rashid Khan was once again the star with the ball for SRH with 3 for 12 from his 4 overs while Khaleel Ahmed and T Natarajan took 2 each.

With this win, SRH moved up to third spot in the points table.
