India finish third in FIH Hockey World League

Raipur, Dec 6 (IBNS) In a thrilling encounter, India defeated Netherlands 3-2 in the penalty shoot-outs to win the bronze medal in the 2015 FIH Hockey World League Finals here on Sunday.

The match went to the penalty shoot-outs after both the sides tied 5-5 during the regulation time.

Despite having a 5-3 lead, India conceded two late goals in the last 2 minutes to end up with 5-5, thus pressing for the penalty shootouts.

By virtue of this win, India also managed to avenge their group match lost against the same team.
