Hrithik, Anushka, Farhan scorch stage at IPL 2015 opening night

Kolkata, Apr 7 (IBNS): Amid much glamour and glitterati, the cash rich T20 cricket extravaganza-Indian Premier League-commenced its eighth season on Tuesday at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata where Bollywood stars stole hearts with their super performances.
The ceremony received a jolt as heavy rains in Kolkata disrupted it for a long time. However, the patient crowd of Kolkata remained in their seats to catch the ceremony till the end.
 
Kolkatans were entralled as Farhan Akhtar and Band, Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Pritam and Band and Hrithik Roshan, set the stage on fire making the event even more glitzy.
 
The show was hosted by Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
 
Eight teams are participating in the tournament this year.
 
Captains from all the sides were present in the opening night.
 
Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir , who won the last edition of the mega T20 event, put the trophy back in play and signaled the start of the 2015 season of the competition.
 
KKR and Mumbai Indians will face each other in the first match of the tournament on Wednesday.
