Hockey Men's World Cup 2023: India beat Japan 8-0 in classification match

New Delhi/IBNS: India ended their World Cup campaign with an 8-0 win over Japan in the Hockey World Cup classification tie at Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela on Thursday.

Abhishek and India skipper Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals each.

Both teams failed to break the deadlock until the halftime interval before Mandeep Singh gave India the lead in the 32nd minute.

India then went on to score three more goals in the same quarter.
