Gujarat thrash KKR by 6 wickets

Kanpur, May 19 (IBNS): Kolkata Knight Riders made a poor outing at the park on Thursday with Gujarat Lions beating them by six wickets in an IPL match here.

After restricting KKR at 124 for eight in their 20 overs, the Gujarat side reached 125 runs by losing  four wickets with 39 balls to spare.

Suresh Raina (53*) smashed seven boundaries and a six to cruise his side to victory and

Aaron Finch contributed 26 runs in a match where KKR failed to shift their gear at any point.

Ankit Rajpoot, Sunil Narine and Morne Morkel picked up a single wicket each but they could not find a path to take Suresh Raina's wicket as he kept playing them quite comfortably.

Earlier, KKR batsmen failed with their willow as they scored only 124 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.

Yusuf Pathan remained the top scorer for the side with his 36 runs. He hit three boundaries and six in his knock.

Gujarat's Dwayne Smith played a major role in destroying KKR as he scalped four wickets by giving away only eight runs.
