French Open: Sania-Martina reach Q/F

Paris, May 31 (IBNS): Indian Tennis star Sania Mirrza and her doubles partner Martina Hingis reached the quarter-final of the French Open by beating Karin Knapp and Roberta Knapp in the clash here on Sunday.

The Indo-Swiss pair defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-4.

Indian fans received shocks as both Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna crashed out of the tournament.

Rohan and his doubles partner Romanian Florin Mergea were defeated by Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and Romanian Horia Tecau by 3-6, 7-6, 3-6.

Leander Paes and Daniel Nestor of Canada crashed out of the tournament after losing their match against Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini 2-6, 4-6 .
