EA Sports FC 27 is here: New ‘The Grounds’ mode, career upgrades and more

The game introduces The Grounds, a new social football playground designed to let players experience the game from street football to the stadium. EA SPORTS FC 27 also features more accessible experiences for newcomers, along with gameplay and mode updates for returning players based on feedback from the FC community.

EA SPORTS FC 27 launches alongside the EA SPORTS FC Mobile 27 Season Update and Anniversary Event. EA has also introduced EA SPORTS FC 27 Lite, a free-to-download version offering a streamlined introduction to The World’s Game, with a curated selection of content and modes from the full game.

“At the heart of that is The Grounds, one of our biggest mode innovations in years, introducing a new social football playground where players can compete, connect and express themselves on and off the pitch. Alongside meaningful updates across Football Ultimate Team, Career Mode and gameplay, FC 27 has been shaped by our community. We’re incredibly proud of what our teams have built, and we can’t wait to see how fans around the world make FC 27 their own,” he added.

The Grounds

The Grounds is a new social football playground where players can move between street and stadium football. It includes Kickabouts and 1v1s, as well as opportunities to team up with friends in Clubs. Players can also connect with football mentors, develop their skills and customise their experience on and off the pitch.

Career Mode

Career Mode features a rebuilt Transfer Market with active club bidding and player values enhanced by TransferRoom.

Players can use new negotiation options, including performance and buy-back clauses, while Dynamic OVRs reflect factors such as player form, morale and fitness across clubs.

The mode also allows players to create, play and share custom scenarios through a standalone web portal. Throughout the new season, players can discover community-created and curated Manager Live Creator Challenges.

Football Ultimate Team

Football Ultimate Team introduces the FUT Gallery, allowing players to collect and display Sets featuring past and present Player Items.

Players can increase their Gallery Level, earn rewards and build their club identity throughout the season. The mode also introduces Holographic variants and Hall of FUT Player Items, alongside streamlined Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) and new Single Player Live Events.

Gameplay

EA SPORTS FC 27 features gameplay updates designed to provide greater control across game modes. These include dynamic corners, enhanced attacking awareness and player-focused defending tailored for competitive play, alongside other changes based on community feedback.

EA SPORTS FC 27 features more than 21,000 players from over 800 clubs and national teams, across 140 stadiums and more than 35 leagues, with support from more than 300 global football partners.

EA SPORTS FC 27 Lite

For newcomers, EA SPORTS FC 27 Lite provides a free-to-download introduction to The World’s Game, with access to a selection of content and modes from the full experience.

The Lite version includes Kick-Off, Learn to Play, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons. Players can upgrade to the full game at any time.

The full EA SPORTS FC 27 experience is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Soundtrack and EA Play

EA SPORTS FC 27 features a soundtrack with 120 tracks from 36 countries, bringing together established global artists, emerging talent and unreleased music.

EA Play members can access a 10-hour trial of EA SPORTS FC 27, with progress carrying over to the full game. Members also receive 10% off EA digital purchases, including the full game and FC Points.
