Chandigarh beat West Bengal in Coca-Cola Cup National finals league match

Goa, Jan 15 (IBNS): Chandigarh defeated West Bengal (1-0) in a Group A fixture of The Coca-Cola Cup U-15 Football Tournament for the national finals.

The league match that took place at the CuncolimFootball Ground, Goa, saw Chandigarh’s Udeyveer Singhscore the opening goal in the 16thminute.

The quarter final matches are being played amongst Group A teams.

The Winner of Group Aand the Runners up of GroupA will play with the Runners up of Group B and Winner of Group B respectively in the semi-finals.

The two teams which will emerge as winners will play for the final tournament on the Jan 27 at the BenaulimStadium, Goa.

The final score line was Chandigarh 1- 0 West Bengal.

The Coca-Cola Cup is a grassroots talent hunt initiated to identify potential players to tap the best talent for the upcoming for the National U-17 team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 to be hosted by India.

The tournaments also aims at improving the imminent quality of Indian football at hand giving exposure to the players and also play a major role in taking Indian Football to the World level.
