BCCI announces to donate Rs 10 cr for preparations of Olympic-bound athletes

New Delhi/UNI: The BCCI on Sunday pledged a donation of Rs 10 crore for the training and preparations of Indian athletes who have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, scheduled to begin from July 23.

According to the Cricbuzz report, the decision to extend monetary help for Indian athletes was taken at the BCCI''s emergent Apex Council meeting, attended by Board president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah.

Apart from extending financial support for the Tokyo-bound athletes, the BCCI will also help in the promotional campaigns of the Indian contingent.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is expected to send around a 190-200-member contingent for the Olympic Games.
