Baljit unfazed by World Cuppers

| | Oct 27, 2014, at 02:45 am
Kolkata, Oct 26 (IBNS) Atletico de Kolkata striker Baljit Sahani brushed aside any chance of being overawed while playing against big names and World Cuppers.

Baljit who opened scoring on Sunday with a rasping right footer to which Kerala Blasters goalie and former England World Cupper David James had no answer said: "My work is to score goals. I try hard to do that. It doesnt matter who is in the opposition or against whom am I scoring. They dont over awe me."

It is this rugged nonchalance that has held Atletico in high spirits. "We are a team that believes in itself. We play as a unit, back each other up and try to win every match. That is the reason we are still undefeated."

The East Bengal striker has played as a right back and right out in mid-field apart from his designated position as a striker and has excelled.

When asked to react, he said: "Coach asked me to play in these positions and I was comfortable doing that. I am ready to play in any position for my team. It has helped me grow as a player also."

On anything special that Manager Antonio Habas may have told the team as he was not present in the dugout due to suspension, Baljit said: "Nothing special. He shared a few tactical points and asked us to play as a unit and play with high spirits."
