Australia on top in Indore Test after India 109 all out

| @indiablooms | Mar 01, 2023, at 09:04 pm

Indore/IBNS: Australia are in a commanding position right on the first day of the third Test against India bundling out the hosts for a mere 109 here on Wednesday.

India, who had won the toss, suffered a complete batting collapse in the first and second sessions of the day leading to their struggle to cross even 100.

Virat Kohli's 22 were the highest runs scored by any Indian batter in the low total.

Matthew Kuhnemann picked five Indian wickets for 16 leaving the rest for Nathan Lyon (3/35) and Todd Murphy (1/23).

Despite losing Travis Head early in the innings, Australia crossed 100 with an ease looking for a big lead in the first innings.

Australia's powerful performance in the Test comes as they need to win the remaining two matches to level the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

India are ahead of Australia 2-0 in the four-match series.
