Atletico De Kolkata to revive the Nursery League of West Bengal

Kolkata, Mar 20 (IBNS): Atletico de Kolkata, the champions of inaugural edition of ISL and Indian Football Association (IFA), joined hands to revive of IFA Nursery League.

The strategic step of Atletico de Kolkata would help to build a talent pool of potential players in the category of age group between 12 to14 years and under 12 years.

Players selected from this tournament would be provided with exposure and other opportunities to strengthen and train the aspirant pool for future.

Going ahead with this endeavor, Atletico de Kolkata aims to support with the best infrastructure, facilities, transportation and the necessary financial support for the tournament.

They would also provide the best players with the opportunity to further hone their skills.

Present to grace the occasion were Utsav Parekh, Co-owner, Atlético de Kolkata, Chairman, SMIFS Capital Markets Ltd, Utpal Ganguly, Secretary, Indian Football Association (West Bengal), and Subrata Talukdar, Management Committee Member, Atletico de Kolkata

Commenting on the occasion, Sanjiv Goenka, Co-Owner, Atletico De Kolkata and Chairman, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group said, “Our aim is to promote football and develop infrastructure for the game in Bengal. This association with IFA in reviving Nursery league is aligned to our commitment made to uplift and scout for the best of the football talent. We truly believe that the budding footballers of ATK Nursery Division Football League are going to be the future of Indian football.”

The total number of registered players for this tournament is around 2000 with about 23 players from each team.

Speaking on the tournament, Utpal Ganguly, Hony.Secretary IFA (WB) said, “Indian football will always demand to hunt for fresh talents of the game. What best it could be Atletico de Kolkata is associating with the league which will enable further to identify, nurture budding talents from the remote of the state.”

Harsh Neotia, Co-Owner Atletico De Kolkata and Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group added that, “We are overwhelmed to take the responsibility of conducting this event in association with IFA this year and I believe that we have the skills and resources to facilitate this change and hence, we must participate in this process.”
