Asian Games: India's Palak wins gold in women's 10m air pistol event, Esha settles for silver

Indian shooters PIalak clinched gold and Esha Singh settled for silver in the women's 10m air pistol event of the ongoing Asian Gam

Indian shooting team, comprising Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Suresh Kusale, Akhil Sheoran, made India proud by clinching gold in the men's 50m air rifle 3P team event on Friday.

Indian PM Narendra Modi wished shooters and tweeted: "Another medal in Shooting at the Asian Games! ongratulations to Divya Thadigol, Esha Singh and Palak on winning a Silver Medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women's team event. Best wishes to them for their future endeavours. Their success will motivate several upcoming sportspersons."

The other shooting team, comprising of Palak, Esha Singh and Divya Thadigol, won the silver medal in the  10m air pistol women's team event.

However,  Tennis players Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan settled for silver after losing their gold medal final match.

In the major event so far India has won eight gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals.

India stands in the fourth position in the medals list after China, South Korea and Japan.
