Dhaka, Feb 27 (IBNS): In a thrilling Asia Cup encounter which kept swinging in favour of both the sides, India defeated Pakistan by five wickets here on Saturday.

Restricting Pakistan at 83, India scored 85 runs by losing five wickets with 4.3 overs to spare.

Virat Kohli remained the top scorer for India with his heroic 49 runs in a pitch conducive to fast bowling.

Earlier chasing out to bat, India were left reeling at right runs for the loss of three wickets as comeback man Mohammad Amir wreaked havoc upfront.

He struck in the second ball, removing Rohit Sharma for a duck and followed the same a few ball later with Ajinkya Rahane.

The very next over, Suresh Raina tried flicking the ball, only to scoop it in the air for a easy catch for the mid on fielder.

Once the three wickets were down, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Sharma stitched together a crucial partnership of 60 odd runs, taking the team closer to the target.

India had another slump in the 15th over as Mohammad Sami picked up 2 wickets.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit a four to finish proceeding for his side.
