6 sportsmen named for Padma awards

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IBNS) The Centre on Sunday named five sportspersons for this year's Padma Shri awards while wrestler Satpal will be given the Padma Bhushan award.

National hockey team captain Sardar Singh, women's badminton player P.V. Sindhu , first woman amputee mountaineer to climb Mount Everest Arunima Sinha, women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj and ex-hockey player Saba Anjum have been named for the award.

Wrestler-turned-coach Satpal  has been named for the Padma Bhushan award.
