Bajrang Punia wins India's first gold media in Asian Games 2018

Jakarta, Aug 19 (IBNS):  Bajrang Punia made India proud on Sunday as the wrestler clinched the first gold medal for the country on the first day fo the Asiad here.

The Indian wrestler defeated Takatani Daichi in the Gold Medal match of the 65 kg Men's Freestyle event.

Asian Games was inaugurated on Saturday.

The event will be held from Aug 18-Sept. 2.

Congratulating the wrestler, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted: " Wah ! @BajrangPunia . So proud of you for making us proud. Congratulations for the Gold and for fulfilling your promise of winning one. Shaabash ! #AsianGame2018."
