Sochi, June 16 (IBNS): A magical display by Christiano Ronaldo helped Portugal draw their first World Cup match with former champions Spain here on Friday.

Ronaldo was on fire on Friday night as he scored a hat-trick, first in this season of the mega sporting event, to manage a draw with their neighbouring nation.

Probably, this was the best match played in 2018 edition of the World Cup so far.

Ronaldo put Portugal ahead each time but Spain responded to the situation strongly as with Diego Costa hitting the goal twice.

It was then Nacho of Spain who added one more to put his side to the lead.

With a superb free-kick, Ronaldo ultimately leveled the score 3-3 to record a draw.

The match gave World Cup the much needed fire and momentum which the fans were expecting so far.
