CSK beat Delhi Daredevils by 13 runs in IPL thriller

Pune, May 1 (IBNS): Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Daredevils by 13 runs in a thrilling IPL clash here on Monday.

In a high-scoring match, Chennai opted to bat first and posted 211 runs for the loss four wickets. The CSK bowlers then restricted Delhi at 198 runs for five wickets in their 20 overs.

Rishabh Pant, hammering seven boundaries and four sixes, scored 79 runs in his 45-ball knock and later

Vijay Shankar added unbeaten 54 runs with his willow.

Shankar hit five sixes and a boundary in his innings.

Despite, Shankar's late heroics, Delhi could not manage to reach the winning score and suffered yet another defeat in the tournament, nearly throwing them out of the contention to move to the next round of the tournament.

KM Asif picked up two wickets for CSK.

Earlier, riding on Shane Watson's gutsy 78 runs knock and a late 22-ball 51 runs innings by skipper MS Dhoni, CSK posted 211 runs on the scoreboard.

Watson hit four boundaries and seven sixes in his 40-ball knock.

Faf Du Plessis (33) and Ambati Rayudu (41) added some crucial runs with their willow.

Shankar, Maxwell and Mishra picked up a wicket each for Delhi.
