Kolkata to host FIDE Rating chess tournament in Dec

Kolkata, Dec 7 (IBNS) The Captain All Bengal FIDE Rated Chess Tournament 2017 has been scheduled from  Dec 22 to 25 at Baghajatin, Kolkata.

The Total Prize Fund of the tournament will be Rs.1,50,000/- and  186 prizes will be distributed among the winners.

This tournament is recognized by FIDE, AICF, BCA and KDCA.

The main highlighted feature of this tournament is  its Title Sponsor, BMA Stainless Ltd under CAPTAIN TM.

First time “Captain family” is going to be introduced in Bengal Chess through 64 SQUARES.

BMA Stainless Ltd. agreed to sponsor 64 SQUARES for 2 consecutive tournaments , (i) Captain All Bengal FIDE Rated Tournament (22nd Dec – 25th Dec,2017) and (ii) Captain All West Bengal State Amateur FIDE Rated Chess Tournament (Below 2200) (22nd Jan – 25thJan,2018).

Atanu Lahiri , Sec, Bengal Chess Association & Jt. Sec, AICF ,  Amar Roy, Vice President, BCA were present at the Press Meet held on  Dec 6 in Kolkata.

They represented the Bengal Chess Association. On behalf of  64 SQUARES ,. Biswanath Banerjee (Secretary),  Subrata Sarkar (Asstt. Sec) and  Mrinal Ghosh(Treasurer) were present at the press meet.  S.K. Lakhotia and  Subir Dutta were there at the meet on behalf of BMA Stainless Ltd.

All present hoped for the better future of Bengal Chess. Lakhotia expressed his helping attitude towards chess and promised to extend support to Bengal Chess Association for betterment of Chess in West Bengal.
