Rohit Sharma to play in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Mumbai, Mar 1 (IBNS): Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma is all set to make his return to the field by playing matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The cricketer confirmed the matter on his Twitter account.

He will play for Mumbai against Andhra Pradesh and Goa in Chennai on Mar 4 and 6.

Sharma tweeted: "Finally done with rehab,Can't wait to play Vijay Hazare on 4th & 6th. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here.Counting down the minutes."

The Indian batsman has remained absent from the Indian side since suffering thigh injury during the fifth and final One-Day International against New Zealand in Visakhapatnam.

He has been out of action since  October 2016.

Sharma, known for playing big shots, was undergoing  rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru following a surgery in London.
