IPL: SRH beat MI by 7 wickets

Hyderabad, Apr 18 (IBNS) David Warner scored an unbeaten 90 runs to take his side past Mumbai Indians' target, as they beat the visitors by 7 wickets here on Monday.

Chasing 143 runs to win the match, SRH reached the target with two and a half overs to spare.

Warner clobbered 90 off just 59 balls, hitting seven fours and four maximums.

Opening the innings, Shikhar Dhawan's poor form continued, as the southpaw could add only 2 runs before being removed by Tim Southee.

A 62-run partnership between Warner and fellow compatriot Moises Henriques followed for the ensuing wicket, before Southee struck again, removing the latter for 20 with a brilliant out-swinger.

Eoin morgan, who walked in next, scored 11 runs but a diving catch from Hardik Pandya cut him short.

At 100 for the loss of three wickets, Warner took control of the match as he showed his class by playing some unorthodox shots.

With Deepak Hooda (17) by his side, the Australian forged an unbeaten 45-run stand with his partner as they won the match with ease.

Earlier, Barinder Sran bowled with great control to pick up 3 wickets and restrict the Mumbai side to a 142 runs.

He was accompanied by Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvneswar Kumar, each of whom picked up a wicket each.

For Mumbai, Ambati Rayadu played a good hand, scoring a half century.

Rayadu's 49-ball 54 was laden with three fours and two sixes.

As the others failed around him, a late surge from Krunal Pandya, who remained not out at 49 playing just 28 balls, helped his side go past the 140-run mark.

Pandya, the older brother of Hardik Pandya, hit three fours and an identical number of sixes.

Warner was adjudged the Player of the match.
